Hi, my name Salome Sadovnik. I was born in Colombia and moved to sunny Miami, FL when I was 3 years old. Making me bilingual, hola!
I have a passion for everything marketing and that was not easy to figure out. When I started at the University of Miami (GO CANES!), I had no clue what to do. Slowly I developed a passion for people and answering why they behave as they do and what influences them, so I majored in Sociology. I slowly learned marketing an answer on how to fulfill the underlying desires of people.

For example, I learned people don’t just buy water to hydrate. People buy water and a specific water brand for something much more. Why does a person buy Voss water and not the water from their local town? The answer is Marketing. This was mind-blowing but it was a career that the more I looked into the more I wanted to do.
My professional experiences in Marketing, PR, and Social media added more fuel to the flame. Sitting down at meetings with my co-workers, heads of marketing, and CEO of companies to strategize how to grow to make the product known and wanted, it was exhilarating. Constantly asking “why these consumers and not the others?”, “why these values and purpose and not others?”, and then setting goals and objectives to meet; testing myself to meet those were everything I wanted to do. These experiences also opened doors to copywriting and graphic design. I never thought, writing captions for social media posts was a thing but I loved every single headache that came with developing just the right one.
I decided to further learn more because minoring in Marketing just wasn’t enough for me. I made of a choice of flying across the world to Madrid, Spain, and study at one of the best business schools in Europe, IE Business School and get my Master’s in Corporate and Marketing Communications. I have had the chance to take courses in Branding, Strategic Marketing, Graphic Design, KPIs, and so many more. Through my last 3 months of my program, I worked in a group of 9 people to develop a solution for one of Europe’s biggest banks. My group was voted best marketing strategy out of 8 teams. This was one of my biggest accomplishments in my master's degree because we were 9 people who were scattered around the world, coordinating meeting was a challenge but we got through it and develop great work.

During, my last months of the program I took on an internship at Ink Link Marketing as their PR & Product Promotions Intern. Here I learned even more about the world of Public Relations, which includes writing press releases, media pitching, and constantly connecting with the media to make sure the story is heard. I worked with clients such as TGI Fridays, Church's Chicken, and the Atlanta Community Food Bank among others. Here I scored press with major networks such as IHeart. I also coordinated influencer visits with these brands for days they were running promotions such as National Grilling Month and National Tequila Day. I was in charge of emailing influencers, scheduling them, and being in contact with the TGI locations to make sure everything went smoothly. The most important lesson I got here was to be patient, be a people person, and cultivate relationships and proofread, proofread, oh and more proof-read.

Currently, I work at Van Berkel International. They are consumers good company focused on small kitchen appliances and cutlery, originally from Milan, Italy. I am their E-commerce & Digital Marketing Coordinator. My main responsibilities include running all social media platforms, Instagram, Facebook & Pinterest, creating all the content that is posted while making sure that the tone of voice is accurate, writing the captions, scheduling the actual content, replying to comments, etc. I have grown the overall social media following and engagement by 80% in 3 months. With that, I also run the PPC advertising that is done via Amazon, Google Ads, and Microsoft. I've learned how to effectively manage these platforms on my own and increased impressions, clicks & CTR by 300% in the last 3 months. On the purely E-commerce end, I am in contact with retailers like Macy's, Bed Bath and Beyond, Home Depot, Wayfair, and Amazon to ensure there is enough inventory, and that all the product names and descriptions are up to date. The initiatives I have been able to implement at Van Berkel has been a PR and email marketing strategy. I've begun to develop media lists and use already established relationships to generate more brand awareness. Using my writing skills and my knowledge of PR, I've written media pitches, PR releases, and monitored what is being said about the brand via different platforms.

My journey has now brought me to this point. This year has been a lot of self-discovery, self-reflection, and realizing what my goals are. As much as I love my hometown of Miami, FL I believe it's time to chase my wild dreams of working in NYC and establish myself as in the marketing & PR industry. I've moved across the world 2 times, so moving to another state doesn't scare me. Okay maybe the -90000 degrees in winter scare me but it's an enormous chance I'm willing to take.
